The Antarctic Research Centre at Victoria University is a source of interesting stories. Associate professor Nancy Bertler has made 13 trips to Antarctica carrying out her day job in temperatures below -20 degree Celsius. Nancy is research leader at the GNS Science Ice Core Research facility. This 10 minute video available on YouTube was published in 2013 but is still a very interesting story about how ice cores are being drilled into the Antarctic ice sheets and the cores then transported all the way back to NZ for analysis.
